A Comfortable Monastery

Interest in meditation is what initially led us to the Golden Land, as described here. Apart from our work with the company, for years on a personal level we’ve helped foreign meditators and monastics learn about and access some of Myanmar’s many meditative traditions, and so we were delighted when a nearby Sayadaw (abbot) granted us permission to furnish four rooms in a nearby monastery that could be used by foreign meditators, monastics, pilgrims, and scholars who are passing through Yangon. For several weeks our team went to work preparing the furniture we would donate for this purpose, ensuring that visitors will be treated to a comfortable, safe, and private space while on their spiritual journey. We now rejoice in Sadhu Sadhu Sadhu for our intention to assist those who come to the country to develop internal peace and harmony.
